Simple text
For custom covers that involve simply adding a line or two of text (e.g. “compliments of xyz company”) and/or your company logo, we can do the design work for you at little or no charge.
Complex designs
For more involved cover design, customers must prepare and submit the cover design via a press-ready pdf file with embedded fonts. The cover dimensions for each book are set forth on the respective product page. The design must include the front cover + the spine + the rear cover + 0.50 inch bleeds all 4 sides. Combine into one pdf document to print on a single plate. (See sample images, above.)
You can add text and logos to both the front and rear covers. You can also change the color, styles and fonts. Please provide us with the Pantone number (solid coated) for each color used on the cover. In addition to the cover, you can customize page one (in place of the present order page). Page one must be black and white only. Customization is subject to review and approval by LegalPub.com. The front cover must retain the book's current title and subtitles.
Minimum order; cost
Minimum order for books with a customized cover and/or a customized page one is 250 books.

There is a "plate change" charge of $100 per plate change. The printer must change plates for each text and color change. Use of the base color white is not considered a color change. Examples: A custom cover using one color plus white would require one plate change. A custom cover with two colors plus white would require two plate changes. A custom cover with three colors plus white would require three plate changes. A custom cover with four colors plus white would require four plate changes. A custom cover with four colors plus white and a custom page one would require five plate changes.
The maximum number of plate changes for any color cover is four. A four color process can create any number of colors or combination of colors.
Scheduling
Printing of customized books is performed as soon as we have sufficient backorders to justify a press run. Call for the schedule of the next press run. Turnaround time is approximately 3 weeks from the date the last proof is approved for the press run.
